This year, Landsharks was honored to be named one of Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch. The award is granted to 50 small businesses yearly in East Lansing, Michigan, at a ceremony located on Michigan State University's gorgeous campus. Every year, Michigan Celebrates Small Businesses gives out this award, with the intention of championing small business in Michigan, a cause very dear to us at Landsharks.

Per the MCSB's website, "[t]he MCSB’s role is to serve as a catalyst for creating an entrepreneurial culture while inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs. The mission of MCSB is to honor and recognize Michigan’s small business people and those champions and advocates that support them." It is a tremendous accomplishment, and we couldn't be more grateful!

Nominees are carefully selected for the award based on their ability to meet a specific criteria. The award is dedicated to companies and businesses that are privately held and are beyond the startup stage, facing issues of growth, rather than survival. Awardees must be headquartered in Michigan and must demonstrate capacity to grow based on employee or sales growth, sustainable competitive advantage, or other notable successes. It is a great honor to be awarded this recognition, because it confirms something we've always known: Landsharks goes above and beyond. We strive to embody a top-notch company in many ways: we keep our doors open 363 days a year, we train our employees to provide excellent customer service, and we donate portions of our earnings to local nonprofits that make a positive difference.

This accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without our amazing customers. Whether you're a twenty-year buyer who shops with us for every special event, birthday, or holiday, or you're a first-time shopper wandering through on a summer vacation, we couldn't be more grateful for your support. Being named for a large-scale award is just as important to us as being told "this is my favorite shop in town!"
